On April 17th, I finished my tour to promote This Must Be The Place: How Music Can Make Your City Better with a spirited event in Bradford, UK, featuring speakers from Bradford Music Scene, The Underground, and the Music Venue Trust. I haven’t written much about the tour, mainly because I haven’t had time, but it has been one of the most fulfilling experiences in my life.
I have performed/presented 49 times since September 7, 2023, beginning at my local, The Wanstead Tap. I have spoken in city council chambers, record stores, music venues, bars, libraries, art galleries, exhibition spaces, festival stages, and dozens of bookshops. Some incredible places include Yellow Racket Records in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Eymundsson in Reykjavik, Bar La Canada in Barcelona, Writers Block Cafe in Anchorage, Alaska, MDL Beast in Riyadh, and the KOKO Private Members Club in London. And the rest.
The book has also been licensed for translation in several languages, including:
Arabic (via Tashkeel Publishing)
Spanish (via Liburuak / Last Tour Publishing)
Italian (via EDT)
Brazilian Portuguese (via Urban Eco)
Japanese (via Blk Swn)
There is more to come, including (I hope) the audiobook and further translations into Korean, Portuguese, French, and German. This is down to my publisher, Watkins / Repeater, whose support has been invaluable.
There are far too many people to thank, but thank you if you’ve brought me to your town, bought the book, spoken on a panel, or attended an event. If you have had a moment to read the book and like it, I’d greatly appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes to review it on Amazon or GoodReads. I have also started sketching out the next book, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
I will be back on the road from the end of August. More on that soon. If I haven’t had a chance to visit your city or town, please don't hesitate to reach out. I’d be more than happy to discuss what’s possible.
More very soon. Have a great weekend.
